Turki Alralikh praised Devin Haney on social media after the announcement of his fight against Wbo Welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr., in November in Riyadh. Alralikh said what Haney likes is that he will “Fighting anyone.”

Many fans would disagree with Turki on this point. What Hnge has shown us throughout his career is that he is selective in the opponents he faces. The only talented fighter that Devin fought in 135 was Vasily Lomachenko, and his victory against him was considered very controversial by fans.
If Haney was willing to “fight someone”, why did he choose to face Jose Ramirez last May? With 31 fights as a professional, Haney should have been able to fight Gary Antuanne Russell and Alberto Puello.
Undefeated talents, Haney lost
Gervonta Davis
Raymond Muratalla
Andy Cruz
Abdullah Mason
Ernesto Mercado
Haney’s struggle against Brian Norman Jr. At 147 it is one of the rares where you are confronted with someone who will not be the favorite and will not have a size advantage. This struggle is expected to be a mismatch, with Haney out of the water by Norman, which is at another level of talent.
What will be interesting to see is whether Haney is up to Turki’s praise to be willing to “fight against anyone.” I see Devin returns to how he combined.
If you are really willing to fight anyone, I would expect to fight for these three: 1. Shakhram Giyasov, 2. Karen Chukhadzhian and 3. Raul Curiel. These are the best fighters of the division below Norman Jr. I do not consider that Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, Ryan Garcia, Mario Barrios or Manny Pacquiao are the best in 147.
What we probably see is that Haney chooses his level of business after his fight with Norman Jr. This means that it will promote a resale with Ryan Garcia, as well as struggles against Barrios, Pacquiao and Teophimo Lopez. He will be away from Curiel, Giyasov and Chukhadzhian.
When Haney (32-0, 15 kos) moved to 140, he fought against the faded record program for WBC belt instead of Subriel Matias or Teophimo Lopez. Why not them? Devin now leaves the 140 lb division without fighting these talents:
Richardson Hitchins
Gary Antuanne Russell
Alberto Puello

Devin Haney will fight anyone and I respect this🥊🤷♂️
