The relationship between Donald Trump and Volodimir Zelensky were bad enough before the cry in the oval office.
President Trump has already called him a dictator and said that Ukraine started the war is a lie.
Now the US-Ukraine Alliance, which is brought up by Joe Biden, is in pieces.
The public breakdown also signals the main crisis that looms between NATO and the United States.
There will still be many doubts and questions about USA’s commitment to European security outside Ukraine. The biggest one, whether President Trump will fulfill the promise to his predecessor Harry Truman, made in 1949 to consider the attack on the NATO ally as an attack on America.
These problems are based on the fact that it seems that Trump’s determination will restore strong relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He put pressure on Ukraine, offering Putin’s great concessions – it should be made by Ukrainians.
Ukraine’s security goes for a bad second – and Europeans are also worried.
President Zelensky’s refusal to make these concessions angered Trump.
He refused to sign not only minerals. Ukrainians believe that they wage war on national survival – and Putin will break any promise to stop the war unless it is held.
That is why Zelensky has repeatedly asked US safety guarantees.
The meeting was lit in a screaming match after the JD Vance Vice President.
Now there is a suspicion that the public line was – according to one diplomatic observer – a planned political collapse: either to force Zelensky to bid in America, or to enclose the crisis that would allow them to blame him for what next.
If Trump is monitoring the breakdown of military assistance, Ukraine will fight. Questions are how effective and for a long time.
The pressure will double on its European allies to take over the slack.
