President Donald Trump Announced on Truth Social on Saturday evening that “great progress” was made during trade negotiations with China.
During the meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, between US officials, including Minister Treasury Scott and Chinese delegation, “a lot of things” were discussed and “a lot (it was), – said Trump.
The discussions that lasted more than 10 hours did not announce a serious breakthrough, the Associated Press reports and the talks are scheduled to continue on Sunday.

The administration has announced Circle tariffs On April 2 and later, 145% of the tariff on Chinese goods was imposed.
After reducing mutual tariffs for other countries within 90 days before the base line 10%, China has raised tariffs on American goods up to 125%.

White House says Trump is committed to 10% base tariff
On Thursday, Trump told reporters in White House China “a lot” wanted to make a deal, stopping the intensive tariff battle.
While the president did not provide many specifics on Saturday night, he called the agreement as “a general discharge, which is consistent with a friendly but constructive, manner.”
“We want to see in favor of both China and USOpening China for American business, – Trump wrote in the message. “Great progress has made !!!”

Trump, a longtime supporter of the tariff, claimed that “fair” duties could affect a record record deficit of 1.2 trillion. Dollars since 2024 and encourage return American production jobs.
In April, the infamous said tariffs could cost China up to 10 million jobs, making Chinese tariffs impossible.

“Even if there is a drop in tariffs, they can lose 5 million jobs,” the White House journalists told infant. “Remember that we are a country deficit. They sell us almost five times more than we sell them. So, they will pull these tariffs.”
