The diplomat, who informed about the ceasefire talks, shared more details about the transaction with Fox News.
“President Trump talked to the Qatar Emir and informed him that Israel had agreed to ceasefire with Iran,” the source shared. “The president asked Qatar to help convince Iran to do the same after Vice -President Vens coordinated with the Prime Minister of Qatar in detail.”
The source added that “these efforts were successful, and after discussion with the Prime Minister of Qatar Iranians, they agreed.”
“The transaction was agreed at the highest level by the President and the vice -president and Qatar Emir and the Prime Minister,” the source continued.
“Despite the attack a few hours earlier, Qatar canceled their complaints and put their regional security priorities to make a deal.”
The President’s announcement takes place after at least six missiles in America in Al-Adeida in Qatar on Monday, having paid Trump’s attack on Tehran’s nuclear program this weekend.
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the strike in a statement, saying the missiles had been destroyed and there were no victims.
“I would like to thank the highly respected emiru of Qatar for all he did, looking for peace for the region,” Trump wrote in a previous message on Monday.
