US President Donald Trump said he had ordered two nuclear submarines to “accommodate in the relevant regions” in response to “high -scale” comments of former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Trump said he acted “just in case, where these stupid and inflammatory statements are more than only. Words are very important and often can lead to unintended consequences, I hope it will not be one of these cases.”
He did not say where two submarines are located.
Medvedov recently threatened the United States in response to Trump’s ultimatum to Moscow to agree with the ceasefire in Ukraine or face severe sanctions.
Russia and the US possess the most nuclear weapon in the world.
But Trump did not say whether he implies on nuclear submarines that work on nuclear or nuclear armed, in his post about social truth.
In the report, the US president wrote: “Based on the high -routine statements of the former Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the deputy chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I ordered to place two nuclear submarines in the respective regions.”
Trump and Medvedev recently participated in a number of personal attacks against each other on social media.
On Monday, Medvedev accused Trump of playing “ultimatum” with Russia.
In a report on X he said that “every new ultimatum is a threat and step before the war.”
Earlier this month, Medvedov called Trump’s ultimatum “theatrical”, saying that “Russia does not care”.
And writing in Telegram on Thursday, Medvedov warned of the threat of a “dead hand” – which some military analysts understood as a link to the code control system.
On Thursday, Trump called Medvedov “an unsuccessful former Russian president, who believes he is still the president.”
Trump also warned Medvedov “watch his words”, adding that “he entered a very dangerous territory!”
The White House said the BBC that Trump no longer comments.
The Kremlin did not publicly commented on Trump’s latest statement.
