Independence, Missouri

Small business – it’s a big business For America, so it is often referred to as the basis of the US economy. There are almost 35 million small businesses in the statistics of small business administration compared to less than 20,000 large enterprises. Small business is about half a private economy and creates most new jobs.

However, since small business is distributed in geography, demographics, industries and sizes, in Washington they do not attract so much attention. There are fantastic individual supporters, as well as propaganda organizations such as NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business), Corporation S, NSBA (National Small Business Association), SBE Council (Small Business and Entrepreneurship) and numerous organizations concerning the industry.

Small business has been in favor of falling out of state mandates for decades. First, the COVID-19 state and local mandates closed and adversely affected millions of small businesses, for which the PPP’s poorly developed program did not fully compensate.

On the back of the COVID mandates there were long -term interruptions in the networks of supplies and labor markets that will even more harm to small businesses. Then historical inflation under the Biden administration extended even more pressure on small businesses and their customers.

While small companies were optimistic for Trump’s main administration of the first street, Waiting for deregulation and tax confidence to help increase their business growth, millions of small businesses instead fight another battle with tariffs.

Regardless of the fact that small businesses have a part or all their supply chain abroad, has home suppliers who are on foreign supply networks or customers who reduce costs and investments from market and economic uncertainty, they have been financially affected.

And while large companies such as Apple have been provided with a temporary application in their tariff impact, reducing the tariffs on China for smartphones, computers and chips from 145% to 20%, millions of small businesses have received any relief. On its Apple balance has tens of billions of dollars in cash and equivalents; Small business does not have such a balance leverage.

Although understanding the needs of companies such as Apple and Walmart, it is very important to understand the needs of small companies across the country.

Small business does not have the ability to absorb high costs from serious policy changes overnight.

In fact, almost all the small businesses I talk to is very little from the government, except to stay in their business without interference with the government. They want to exist on the same game conditions as everyone else and do not have the barriers, rules and problems imposed by the government that relate to their path at every turn.

To understand these problems, President Trump must invite a small business and their supporters to the White House. When the main street is flourishing, it needs to start with a small business, and this reality should provide a small business place at the table.
