Look: “We’re filled with grief” – President Trump visits Texas after the deadly flood

US President Donald Trump reassured the residents of Kerwil, Texas that the government would help restore after the floods last week in the central part of 120 people.

President and First Lady Melania Trump met on Friday with local officials on Earth – stood before the tractor trailer – and surveyed the damage.

“I have never seen anything like this,” Trump said after a destruction excursion.

More than 12,300 volunteers gathered to help look for 161 people who were still missing across the country. Officials said volunteers work 10 hours a day.

Trump said in the afternoon that he and the first lady were in the city to “express love and support and longing for our nation.”

The first lady, who usually retains a low profile, has joined the destruction excursion. She said she was hugging and praying with the victims during her visit.

“My deep sympathy for all parents who have lost beautiful young souls,” she said. “We grieve with you. Our people mourn with you.”

She also promised to visit again.

On the eve of the deadly tragedy there were questions about whether proper warnings were provided and why some were not evacuated ahead of the flow.

“Only an evil person would ask such a question,” Trump replied when the topic arose on Friday, saying that it was easy to sit and think what could happen.

The level of the Guadalpepe river, which plunged the houses, roads and machines, surprised many.

The catastrophe unfolded before the dawn last Friday, when the river rose at 26 feet (8 m) for the gap of just 45 minutes. Young children and staff in the summer camps along the river slept when the weather announced faded.

Search crews in Texas still are still sifted the garbage for the missing points. Authorities said they would not concede until everyone is taken into account.

Experts have stated that there are a number of factors that led to tragic floods, including in previous wells, the location of some houses and extreme weather.
