Trump “disappointed” with Elon Musk attacks on the budget bill

US President Donald Trump says he was “very surprised” and “disappointed” with his former ally Elon Musk criticizing his budget bill.

“We had a great relationship with Elon. I don’t know if we will be anymore,” Trump told the White House on Thursday.

This was the most immediate criticism of the president to lobby for Musk against the tax reduction and the reduction of state expenses – a plan that caused criticism from Moscow and some Republicans.

In response, Musk doubled to X, saying that the bill was filled with “pork” – wasteful government spending – and writing: “Either you get a big and ugly bill, or a thin and beautiful bill.”
