US President Donald Trump has called Mark Karni Prime Minister to congratulate him on winning the country’s general election, and they agreed to meet soon.
Both countries were expected to talk about new economic and safe relationships on Monday.
According to the public television company CBC, which predicted trading tariffs and repeated comments that undermine Canada’s sovereignty, the Carnie’s Liberals, having won the minority government.
This result will make the urgent tasks of Karni in negotiations with his American counterpart and solve a number of internal issues, as he will need to overcome the support of other political parties.
In his first call after the election, Trump congratulated Carney on his victory, the Prime Minister’s office reports on Tuesday.
The office also stated that both leaders “agreed on the importance of Canada and the United States working together – as independent, sovereign countries – for their mutual improvement.”
Liberals will need to rely on support to accept the legislation through the House of Commons.
They also face a possible defeat in any trust in the ward.
Liberals are likely to find the willing partners with a decrease in the left -wing new democrats who have in the past supported the liberals and the Quebec bloc.
Liberals are forecast to win 169 seats, three short of 172, needed for most in the House of Communities of Canada.
This is still a historical turn for a party that seemed to be a collapse only months ago.
Karni, a former Central banker of Canada and the UK, will continue as Prime Minister, having taken the role last month after the resignation of Justin Trudu’s unpopular predecessor.
One of the problems, when the liberals can be easily finding support in the ward, is to adopt the legislation to help workers and industries affected by the US tariffs – that all parties have encroached on the company trail.
On Tuesday morning, Bloc québécois Yves-France Blanest suggested that Carney could take advantage of at least a period of stability in the ward.
Blanchett called on the “truce” among the parties, while Canada agreed on trade with the United States, saying that in unstable times it was clear that the Canadians wanted political stability.
He said it was time for other parties to “threaten the government in the near future” and saw no scenario “except cooperation throughout the year.”
The leader of the Sovereignist party, who manages only Quebec candidates, urged Carney to avoid the press on certain issues, noting that cooperation is going on in both directions.
On Tuesday, the White House commented on the victory of Karnya, and the deputy press -secretary Anna Kelly stated: “The presidential plan did not affect the 51st Canada state.”
In Interview with BBCKarni, said that Canada deserves “respect” from the US, and it will only allow “trade and security” in our terms.
Karni told the BBC that the 51st state scenario was “never happened”.
Meanwhile, the new US Ambassador to Canada Pitt Hoexstra said in a video that “seeks success in these great relations.”
Karni also promised actions on a number of internal issues, including the fight against housing crisis and tax reduction for low and average income.
The Prime Minister also needs to prepare for the G7 summit in June, which Canada holds in Albert province.
In the elections on Monday, both liberals and the Conservatives found a significant increase in their share of national voting compared to four years ago.
The Conservative Party took second place on the way to win 144 places and forms an official opposition.
Increased support for the two largest parties of Canada came at the expense of smaller parties, in particular, the NDP, whose share of popular voting decreased by approximately 12 percentage points.
The voter turnout was 67%.
Both the Conservative leader Pierre Puliver and the NDP leader Yagmet Singh lost their seats, and Singh announced that he would go down as leader of the left party.
