US Presidential Administration Donald Trump has stated that the temporary legal status of more than half a million migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela has been recalled.
Migrants without a legal basis remain warned to leave the country before their work permit and deportation shield will be canceled on April 24, the Federal Government said.
530,000 migrants were brought to the United States as part of Baden’s sponsorship process known as CHNV, which was intended to open legal migration tract. Trump suspended the program as soon as he took office.
It is unclear how many of these migrants were able to provide another status at this time that would allow them to remain in the US legally.
The program was launched under the Democratic Language President Joe Biden in 2022, first covered by Venezuelans before it was extended to other countries.
This allowed migrants and their direct family members to fly to the United States when they had US sponsors and remained two years under temporary immigration status, known as parole.
Biden’s administration claimed that CHNV would help stop illegal border crossings on the southern US border.
But the Internal Security Department accused the previous administration on Friday of lies in America.
The agency’s statement said that Biden’s officials “provided them (migrants) opportunities to compete for US jobs and blow up US workers; forced civil career to promote programs, even when fraud was discovered;
However, on a 35-page message in the Federal Register it is said that some of the US as part of the CHNV may be allowed to remain in a “case in each case”.
Trump also considers the possibility to abolish the temporary legal status of about 240,000 Ukrainians who fled to the United States during the conflict with Russia.
