Donald Trump said on Saturday that he had negotiated with Cambodia and Thailand leaders when both countries sought an “immediate ceasefire” after the border clashes.

He added that he hoped to resume trade talks with Cambodia and Thailand, although it was not appropriate to conduct such discussions until “the fight stops”.
At least 33 soldiers and civilians were killed, and thousands of Thai and Cambodian citizens have been moved since the fighting began on July 24.
Trump’s intervention occurred a week before that American tariffs on Cambodia and Thailand must log into force.
On August 1, US goods delivery from Thailand or Cambodia will have to pay 36% tax unless an agreement can still be reached.
Earlier on Saturday, Cambodia had already called for a “direct” ceasefire with Thailand.
Maris Sangiampongs, Foreign Minister Thailand, said his neighbor should show “true sincerity in ending the conflict” for the negotiations that need to be continued.
After speaking at his luxurious Trump resort Ternberri in South Ershire, the US president said he had talked to Cambodia Prime Minister Hun and Acting Prime Minister Thailand Fumtem.
“When everything is done and peace is at hand, I look forward to concluding our trade agreements with both!” Trump wrote.
