US President Donald Trump has called the Conservative Media Critic and pro -Israeli commentator Leo Brent Bozel III to South Africa, against the backdrop of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The allocation of Mr. Boselle stems from the expulsion of Washington Ambassador South Africa Ebragim Rasual, for remarks that are considered critical of Trump.
The Trump administration condemned the legal actions of South Africa against Israel in the International Court of War in Gaza and falsely accused the government of persecution of white South Africans.
The US Senate is still to be confirmed.
Earlier, Mr. Bosel, 69, was nominated to head the US Agency for Global Mass Media – now with a shopping umbrella, which oversee the voice of America and Radio Free Europe – but the application was later canceled.
Earlier in his career, he founded a media research center – in the stated mission of “detection of liberal prejudice” – and the television council of parents, among other conservative groups.
His son Leo was among those who stormed US Capitol on January 6, 2021. He was sentenced last year and sentenced to almost four years in prison.
US relations in Africa deteriorated sharply with Trump.
Earlier in March, the United States expelled Ebragim Rasual, and Secretary of State Mark Rubio called him a “race politician”.
