Trump asks the Supreme Court to allow billionths to reduce foreign aid

The president has rarely used the legislative tool for withdrawal. Since his return to the White House, Trump has canceled billions of foreign aid, which he said does not meet his goals.

General lawyer J. John Sauer said on Monday that a lower court was “causing a serious and immediate threat to the separation of powers.”

“The president is unlikely to talk to one voice in foreign affairs or in dealing with Congress, when the district court makes the executive power to advocate their own purposes,” the Cauer wrote.

The Supreme Court can make the decision at any time.

Last week, Judge Amir Ali ruled that the US government should spend their allocated money if Congress did not vote for the approval of the Trump administration.

On August 28, Trump told the House of Representatives that the administration would not spend billions in foreign aid allocated earlier this year.

These funds include about $ 3 billion for the US International Development Agency (USAID), as well as money for the State Department, international peacekeeping and to advertise democracy in other countries.

Trump, Republican, largely dismantled the main USAID foreign aid agency because he said his expenses were wasteful.

In order to withdraw money for foreign aid, he stated that he uses the so -called pocket series through the Act on Contrarance Control, which gives the President the authority to request the cancellation of the funds approved by Congress.

Such a notice so late in the financial year means that the money can remain insistent because Congress lacks time to act on request.

A group of non -profit organizations and enterprises that receive money for foreign aid projects has filed a legal problem in this step.

It is reported that for the first time in almost half a century the president moved into unilateral back financing.

The Trump administration has already stated that it plans to spend another $ 6.5 billion of funds assigned to foreign aid, by lawsuits from the aid groups.

This is not the first time in the Supreme Court ended with foreign aid financing.

In March, the judges rejected the President’s application to keep $ 2 billion frozen while the case was moving forward. It was a ruling 5-4.
