Trump announces 25% tariffs on car imports to us

Donald Trump has announced new trade taxes of 25% on the US -imported vehicles.

The US president said the latest tariffs will come into force on April 2 and the collections begin the day.

Trump claimed that this measure would lead to “huge growth” for the automotive industry, promising that it would push jobs and investments in the US.

But analysts said this step could lead to serious violations in the production of cars, raising prices and tension with the allies.

Mexico is the main foreign car supplier in the US, followed by South Korea, Japan, Canada and Germany.

The shares in General Motors slid about 3% on Wednesday, when the White House said he plans an ad.

Asked by the press conference whether it is likely that he would cancel the course, Trump replied “no”.

“This is constantly,” he said, adding, “But if you build your car in the US, there are no tariffs.”
