A video of President-elect Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk doing the signature “Trump Dance” together to welcome 2025 went viral Tuesday night.
Trump and Musk were spotted dancing to the president-elect’s jerky, arm-pumping Village People classic “YMCA” at Mar-a-Lago, while future first lady Melania Trump also rocked out to the music.
Trump’s dances at rallies, noted for their humorous simplicity, have become a hit with fans and even imitated celebrating athletes in college football, the NFL, boxing and the UFC.

A video of tuxedoed men dancing at the end of a triumphant year for Trump has become a hit with fans online. It was also a reminder that Musk, whose influence in Trump’s orbit and status as the world’s richest man keep him in the headlines, remains close to the man who will become president in three weeks.
Trump recently sided with Musk amid the MAGA base’s controversy over immigration and the place of foreign workers in the U.S. labor market.
musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who were Trump’s picks to head the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), argued last month that American culture doesn’t place enough emphasis on education and that technology companies like SpaceX and Musk’s Tesla need foreign workers.
Many tech companies have embraced the H-1B visa program, which allows U.S. companies to hire foreign skilled workers, but critics of the program say H-1B holders are often chosen for jobs over U.S. citizens.

Trump said that he believed in the program and was always in favor of visas.
After the report Former White House aide Hogan Gidley said in an interview with Fox News on Monday that Musk’s constant presence and his presence in the headlines are irritating Trump, that it’s not a story.
“Look, it’s clear that Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and others have a good relationship with Donald Trump,” Gidley said. “The media likes to stir things up and try to create cracks where there aren’t any.”
Trump spoke journalists at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night and predicted that 2025 would be a “great year.”

“I think we’re going to do fantastically well as a country,” he said. “We’re going to bring it back. It needs to be brought back. People don’t have a lot of respect for our country, and they’re going to have a lot of respect for us. I think a lot of progress has been made in the last five weeks. It’s been pretty amazing when you look at what’s happened all over the world, not only in our country, there are many very happy people.
Asked if he had any New Year’s resolutions for 2025, he said: “I just want people to be happy, healthy and fit.”
