The elected president Donald Trump said that he spoke on the phone with the President of the PRC Xi Jinping on Friday approx TikTokfentanyl, trade and more.
“The call was very good for both China and the United States,” Trump said Social post “Truth”..
“I hope that we will solve many problems together, and we will start immediately,” said the president-elect-to-be sworn in Monday.
“We discussed balancing trade, fentanyl, TikTok and many other topics. President Xi and I will do our best to make the world more peaceful and secure!” Trump wrote.
Xi said after the conversation that he and Trump expressed hope for greater progress in US-China relations, Reuters reported, citing China’s state broadcaster CCTV.
Trump’s conversation with Xi about TikTok happened shortly before Supreme Court backed a federal law effectively banning the popular video-sharing app from the US
The law is due to take effect on Sunday. It’s unclear how Trump, who credited TikTok with helping him defeat the vice president Kamala Harris will consider the upcoming ban in the Nov. 5 election.
