US President Donald Trump said in the United States “there is no stronger partner” than Saudi Arabia during his first major foreign trip – a whirlwind of the Gulf countries, mainly focused on attracting investments.
On the first day of the tour, two sides announced a weapon of $ 142 billion (107 billion pounds, as well as other investments that, according to Prince Saudi Arabia, may eventually cost $ 1tn.
Trump also made Saudi Arabia the first foreign stop during his first term in 2017. The rest of his trip to Qatar and the UAE will include stops in Qatar and the UAE.
Speaking almost an hour in Eriyad, Trump also announced that the US would raise sanctions on Syria to give the country a “chance of greatness”.
Trump’s arrival in Saudi Arabia met a grand reception on Tuesday, including a lush carpet with a lavender-color to say hello. He even chose a purple tie to match it.
Riyadh changed the red carpets into lavender in 2021, saying it was a symbol of deserted wildflowers and generosity of the kingdom.
Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Salman met Trump on the asphalt and provided pride to Arabian horses to accompany his presidential limo.
In the speech later Trump said, “I really like him.”
The pompous and the ceremony became a sharp change from the muted reception of former US President Joe Biden, who announced Saudi Arabia “Paria” after the murder of a dissident journalist before going to the rich Kingdom to seek help in reducing gasoline.
Trump flew to the Gulf of Persian to take up financial transactions and claimed in his speech that it was through this kind of trade and economic development that the East would exceed violence and division.
In his statements at the US Forum Investment in the US Trump praised US-Saudi relations as “more powerful than ever”.
“From the moment we started, we saw the wealth that poured – and poured into America,” he said.
The visit comes when Trump continues to try Woo foreign investors in the US to increase the US economy, the focus of his administration in almost four months of his second term.
“I like it too much,” said Trump of Saudi Arabia and the head of the defakts Mohammed bin Salman. “That’s why we give so much.”
Emphasizing his commitment to classes, Trump joined the billionaire Elon Musk and other business executives at a lush lunch.
During his address, Trump stated that it was his “dream” that Saudi Arabia would join the Abraham agreements, a transaction that was engaged in its first administration, which first normalized relations between Israel and some Persian Gulf countries.
But his good friend, Mohammed bin Salman, made it clear that it would not happen until the end of the war and the gas and the clear way to the Palestinian statehood.
There is a restriction of what can deliver this friendship.
Trump only briefly resorted to a constant conflict between Israel and Hamas.
He told the audience that people in Gaza deserved a “better future”, which was restrained by Hamas, choosing “for abduction, torture and purpose” for “political purposes” – a reference to the attack on October 7, 2023 on Israel.
Trump also announced that he was raising sanctions on Syria to improve the country’s new government, and he suggested Mohammed bin Salman.
“Oh, what I do for the prince of the Crown,” the US leader said.
US sanctions on Syria have been in force for more than ten years, which meant to apply pressure and economic pain against the dictatorship of former President Bashar al -Assad, which was rejected in December.
Syria has since elected by the new transitional presidentCreating an opening for updated US diplomacy efforts.
Trump is expected to meet with Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa on Wednesday in Saoi Arabia.
From Saudi Arabia, Trump will head to both Qatar and the UAE, which has already pledged to invest 1.4 tN in the United States over the next decade.
