The US government abandoned one program and left the other that both documents were allegedly Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
The Trump administration has reduced the funding for the humanitarian research laboratory of Yale University (HRL), which spoke in detail about the mass deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
He also abandoned a multinational group intended to investigate the leaders of Russia in Ukraine, including President Vladimir Putin.
These steps come after Trump talked to Putin and President Ukraine Valodimir Zelensky to agree on ceasefire in Ukraine, breaking up with the previous approach of the US administration to try to take on Putin responsible for the Russian invasion.
A statement by the humanitarian research laboratory said they reported that “state financing their work on the war in Ukraine was stopped.”
A two -party group of 17 Congress members pushed off to reduce funding for HRL, saying that their work is a “vital resource” in preserving evidence of children abducted from Ukraine.
In a letter to Secretary of State Mark Rubio and the Secretary of the Treasury Scott Helnt, the lawmakers stated that HRL had collected data on 30,000 children abducted from Ukraine and “absolutely important” to ensure returning home.
It states that these abductions occurred against the background “regarding the reduction of the US leadership in combating this crime.”
It adds that the work of the MRL can be credited to the basis for Putin’s International Criminal Court on the abduction of children of Ukrainians.
The US State Department responded to a letter stating that it did not remove any of the data collected by the MPL.
On Wednesday, Trump’s press secretary Caroline Levita said the US government had reduced the financing in the SVR, saying that the White House had nothing to do with them.
She added that Trump talked to Lodz Zelensky about abducted children, and promised to work closely with the Russian and Ukrainian sides to ensure that these children are returning home.
But the United States also left the International Center for Crime Aggression against Ukraine (ICPA).
In a statement by the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation – the ICPA parent – confirmed the BBC that the US authorities said they were leaving the program.
The ICPA was created to prosecute Russian leaders for the “crime of aggression” in Ukraine, according to their website, as well as maintain evidence and preparation of cases for their tests in the future.
In addition, Reuters reported that several US national security agencies have stopped working on agreed efforts to combat Russian cyberattacks and misinformation.
