Ravi Shastri picks India’s most underrated ICC player

Former Head Coach of India Ravi Shastri has revealed his pick for India’s most underrated player in ICC events: Shikhar Dhawan. Speaking to Sanjana Ganesan in a video shared by the ICC, Shastri highlighted Dhawan’s remarkable contributions to India’s success in global tournaments, particularly in the Champions Trophy.

“I thought Shikhhar Dhawan’s Champions Trophy in the Champions Trophy, whenever he played, was outstanding. He was a highlight for me the way he picked up his game for the big events.” Shastri said.

Acknowledging the spotlight that often falls on India’s superstar players, Shastri noted that Dhawan has flown under the radar despite being a key performer.

“You always talk about the great players in the Indian team, the superstars and he flies under the radar. You know, in big events he was a fantastic player. So you know I remember a lot of his runs in the Champions Trophy .He was one of the stars of the Champions Trophy, the World Cup, the ICC tournaments.” added Shastri.
