In a significant development before the 13th edition of the League Premier of the Caribbean (CPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) They have made a change of high profile in their leadership structure. With the CPL 2025, which will begin on August 14, the four times champions have named a new main coach to guide them to the future.
Trinbago Knight Riders Name of Phil Simmons’ replacement
The franchise has confirmed the appointment of the old star of the West Indies All Rounder Dwayne Bravo as a new main coach for CPL 2025. Enter the shoes of Phil Simmonswho has assumed coaching functions for the Bangladesh Men’s national selection. Bravo’s appointment points to a new age for TKR, as he goes from his stellar career to a full -time coaching role.

I want to thank the coach Phil Simmons for his time and commitment in recent years, and now I look forward to this new challenge for me and my staff.” Bravo said, expressing his enthusiasm for the role, in an official statement.

A decorated career and a training pedigree to make it safely
Bravo’s credentials as T20 is indisputable. Throughout the 11 seasons of the CPL, it appeared in 107 games and took 129 doctors, maintaining an economy of 8.74. He spent nine seasons with TKR and was part of five CPL winning campaigns, including a title winner with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in 2021.
Ever since the boots were hung on the franchise cricket, Bravo has remained closely involved in the game. Was named main coach of Riders Knight Abu Dhabi at her ILT20 and served as a mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders at her IPL 2025 Season -—ho. Previously, he worked as a bowling consultant for Chennai Super Kings in 2023 and 2024. More recently, he was part of the technical staff of Afghanistan as a bowling consultant in the 2024 T20 T20 Men T20 World Cupwhere the team made a historic semifinal.
TKR had a mixed campaign in 2024, finishing third in the league stage before presenting -the eliminator against Barbados Royals. With the new coaching structure in its place and the familiarity of Bravo with the TKR ecosystem, expectations are high for a strong rebound this season.
