It’s easier to say than to make live from New York on Saturday night.
For Travis Kelce‘Smost a gig on Saturday night live Perhaps they looked unhealthy, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end said there were some obstacles he faced before the show started.
“The writers ‘rooms were fun because you were just getting angle ideas,” Kelce, 35, shared on Tuesday, July 1, the “Bussin’ with the Boys” podcast. “The board reading – for a guy who can’t really read that good – it was a kind of AF *** situation. I felt I was trying to go through the reading instead of acting out and giving him a voice and giving him a character and things.”
Instead of smelling the moment, Kelce joked he focused on “Don’t skip this line.”
“I’m more of a sound guy,” he added with laughter. “The Board read was the hardest f *** part.”
In March 2023, Kelce made his first appearance for hosting Saturday night live and appeared in a variety of sketches, including “Garrett of Hinge,” “Straight Male Friend” and “American Girl Cafe.”
Looking back at the experience, the NFL player called him one “crazy ride.”

“It was just a fun roller-coaster,” he told guests Will Compton and Taylor lean. “You’re there all week, up to 2 and 3 in the morning just trying to get things out, doing some of the things that were rated -that was logged. That was crazy. That was a crazy ride. That was fun.”
Before the NFL starts a new season in September, Kelce will make the appearance of a guest star a highly expected Netflix movie Happy Gilmore 2.
While some fans guess this could be the start of Kelce’s long acting career, Super Bowl champion said he was much more interested in small roles.
“That’s where I find myself kind of, those fun cameos where I get a role that isn’t necessarily in my name in a movie or something like that, and I’ll be a kind of role play,” he explained. “In Happy GilmoreServer. That’s the role of f *** ing fun in a movie with men like Adam SandlerWho I have loved my whole life. I’d kill to make movies like that for the rest of my life. “
When asked if he would like to sign up for a big TV show, Kelce acknowledged that he is not prepared to commit given that he was “a lot of work.”
“It’s a career area that I haven’t become comfortable with,” he added. “The silly stuff, the funny stuff, I feel so much more comfortable.”
