Rishad Hossain de Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain, shared his distressing experience during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 and added that he was relieved once they arrived in Dubai, far from the dangerous situation. Hossain recalled that Tom Curran broke with tears due to tensions in Pakistan.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the suspension of the PSL on May 9, shortly after the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) decided to postpone the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week. Following the suspension, the players from abroad participating in the PSL were flown to the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking to Dubai Airport journalists, Rishad Hossain explained that he learned that a missile had run over after leaving the airport. Bangladesh’s cricketter described the news as fear and sadness.

“Alhamdulillah, we have arrived in Dubai after passing a crisis and now I feel good,” Rishad told Dubai Airport journalists.
“After landing in Dubai when we heard a missile hit the airport 20 minutes after we were off the airport. The news was scary and painful, and after arriving in Dubai, we are relieved,” he said.
Rishad and Nahid hail were Bangladesh cricketers in the PSL 2025 season. The leg spinner represented Lahore Qalandars, while Nahid played in Peshawar Zalmi.
Rishad Hossain shared that many foreign players were shaken by tensions near the border. Added that players like Sam Billings, Daryl MitchellKushal Perera, David WieseAnd Tom Curran were all terrified. Rishad said Curran broke tears after heard the airport was closed.
“Foreign players like Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Kushal Perera, David Wiese, Tom Curran … They were all so scared … Landing in Dubai, Mitchell told me that I would never go to Pakistan, especially in this type of stage. In general, they were all horrified,” said Rishad.
Rishad added, “Tom (Tom Curran) went to the airport, but heard that the airport was closed. Then it started to cry like a young child, which took two or three people to handle it,” he added.
Rishad Hossain shared that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president was planning to host the remaining PSL matches in Karachi. However, the decision was reconsidered after foreign players raised security problems during a meeting with Mohsin Naqvi of PCB.
“The meeting was basically called to know our concerns, what we think about the current scenario. Almost all foreign players said that the only safe place available for the back of the tournament is Dubai.
“Yes, the President of the PCB tried to convince us of the remaining parties in Karachi. At that time he tried to hide -there were two Drone attacks on the day we met later. Later we all made the decision (to move to Dubai) and the President of the PCB helped us a lot to arrive in Dubai with the grace of Allah. Cricket Board, “he concluded.
