Tiktoker Angelica kept an unusual souvenir of her late husband.
“My husband was the biggest Steelers fan. How big? We kept her real tattoo – her real skin,” wrote Angelica through Tiktok On July 23, posted photos of herself and her son holding a framed piece of his body art: a skull inserted with the logo of the Pittsburgh football team. “Our son chose this one. Out of 70+, he said ‘this is the one he would want.'”
Angelica added, “This is not a replica. You can see his hair, his wrinkles, the ink I kissed a good night.”
She tagged saving my ink forever, claiming that “the only company in the world can do this.”
Three days later Angelica posted another video about her husband’s skin art.
“Yes, we really kept my husband’s tattoo,” he told her followers. “And, no, my son and I don’t think it’s strange at all.”
He continued, “Let me tell you how we had done. When my husband died unexpectedly, I knew this was something we were going to do because we talked about. So with this permission, when I was at the funeral home making all the arrangements – for some of you unfortunately all of you have gone through this process, he wants you, and I want that, who wants such kinds for you, and I want such a thing, and I do it on such, and I want such a thing, and I want such, and the kind of things for you, do that, and I want such a tattoo.
After informing the funeral director of her plans, Angelica contacted Save My Ink forever, which then began to communicate with the funeral home. The Mortician removed “the tissue” she and her son wanted to keep.
“My husband died on Friday,” he remembered. “His screening was the following Thursday and the funeral was Friday. On Friday, after everyone left and I was doing my farewell,” he met the Mortician and outlined “the very tattoo I wanted.”
The conservation “took about 90 days and we had set it up and arranged to send it, bring it to us. I am in West Virginia, the company is in Ohio. When they showed us her tattoo, it was invisible in terms of what he felt. It wasn’t just one feeling. It wasn’t a billing.
Angelica said he could not imagine a commemoration her husband like this.
“I have a lot, lots of emotions every day,” he said. “Every moment. And this helps me in ways I didn’t know I needed.”
In crying, he continued, “These are all happy tears, but please help people know that this is available.”
Angelica encouraged her followers to start making plans for how they want to be honored. “Start treating this as you want to control everything, ”he said.
