Three lions believe in consecutive victories under Tuchel

England continued its perfect start to the 2026 World Cup classification campaign under Thomas Tuchel with a 3-0 victory over Latvia at Wembley Stadium.

Reece James’ goals, Harry Kane and Eberechi Eze said that the three lions won two two -wins from the K.

The hosts controlled from the outset, although it took 38 minutes to break down a resistant Latvian defense.

England’s first dominance almost had nothing when Vladislavs Gutkovskis missed a golden opportunity to put the visitors ahead, ceasing to capitalize on a combination between Jordan Pickford and Marc Guehi.

This young lady was expensive when Chelsea’s defender, Reece James, making his first start for England since 2022, opened the score with an impressive free lack of 25 yards.

His Curling effort left Latvia’s goalkeeper, Rihards Zviedris, took root in the place, finding the corner of Dalt-right with his strike.

James’ goal scored the first free goal of England in Wembley from the John Barnes strike against the Netherlands in 1993.

Despite his dominance, England entered halftime with only one single advantage. Tuchel’s side controlled possession and territory, but struggled to turn his superiority into clear opportunities in the first half.

The second half followed a similar pattern, and England dictated the game and Latvia struggled to get out of its defensive form.

The second goal of England finally came in the 68th minute, courtesy of a well -worked movement involved in Rice and Harry Kane. Rice, who has now provided attendance in consecutive parties in England, increased the right flank before drilling a low cross in the six -gardens box, where Kane was in hand to score his 71st international goal.

Tuchel made several substitutions to inject fresh energy into the game and paid off in the 76th minute. Phil Foden from Manchester City, introduced to Jude Bellingham, performed a simple step to Eberechi Eze, who dazzled the crowd of Wembley with a brilliant solo race.

Crystal Palace striker woven several defenders before shooting at home through a deviation, scoring his first goal for style England.

England continued to move forward, and the debutant Rogers approached a couple of occasions, while Guehi lost a golden opportunity to add a quarter. Zviedris produced a series of impressive savings to keep the respectable score, denying Kane and Rogers late.

With the victory, England remains at the helm of group K and now has a break of 75 days before its next qualifier against Andorra on June 7.

Meanwhile, Latvia will try to regroup -ahead of his confrontation with Azerbaijan the same day. For Tuchel and his team, this was another step in the right direction, as they continue their trip to the World Cup in 2026.
