Thousands turned out to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Dalai

On Sunday, thousands of Tibetan Buddhists entered the Himalayan city of Dharamhal in India to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Dalai -Lama birth.

The fierce monsoon rains did not soften the spirits, as the Tibetan spiritual leader appeared in traditional coats and flows a yellow wrap, smiling and walking with the help of two monks.

According to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Dalai -Lama is reincarnated after death – the process is deeply rooted in spiritual customs, not in political power.

While living in exile from the time of escape to Chinese power in 1959, Dalai -Lama previously stated that his reincarnation would take place in the “free world”, which means China.

But Beijing, who considers him a separatist, rapidly rejected his powers to determine the successor.

Chinese officials insist that any continuity must follow Chinese laws, religious rites and historical conventions – and will eventually be approved by the Leviy government.

In this message, Tibetans in exile that China will try to call the successor to strengthen the control of Tibet, the region he has occupied in 1950 and ruled since then.

Dalai -Lama has long ruled the Tibetan diaspora in the fight for autonomy and resistance to Chinese domination.

On Sunday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended on Sunday, calling it “the unchanged symbol of love, compassion, patience and moral discipline.”

Former US President Barack Obama also sent a greeting, calling him “the youngest 90-year-old” and thanked him for his friendship.
