Thousands of March via camp, honored 80 years since the release

Thousands of people, including those who survived the Holocaust, took part in the annual “March of the Living” through the former Nazi concentration camp Osvica-Birkenau.

The march goes along the route 3 km (1.86 miles) to the crematorium of Auschwitz-Birkenau, when the participants pay tribute to millions of Jews who died in the Holocaust and urge to stop anti-Semitism and intolerance.

Many of the marches carried the Israeli flags and called for free hostages that still kept Hamas in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Isaac Herzeg joined the crowd when they made their way through the camp, 80 years after the Soviet troops released him.
