Thisira Perera, by Sri Lanka, opened the loss of his team in India in the 2011 World Cup final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Perera emphasized the old saying: “Catches Win Matches”, and admitted that the surroundings of Sri Lanka were expensive in the summit of the Summit against India.
Team India, directed by Ms. Dhoni, won his second World Cup title of 50 years in 2011. Blue men defeated Sri Lanka by six doctors in the final crash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With this victory, the Indian Cricket National Team became the first host nation to win a World Cup of Men’s Hate on the floor of home.
Speaking to Sportskeeda during the Asian Legend League, Thisira Perera said that the catches fell into the reason why Sri Lanka lost this game. Perera stated that they made early breakthroughs, but Gautam Gambhir, virat Kohli, Ms Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh helped India achieve victory.
“I feel like we missed some catches. It is always said to” take victory games. “We missed it.
“That’s why we lost the final. We took two great doctors from Sachin Tendulkar and Sehwag early. When we took the two doctors, we thought we are on the court, but it didn’t happen.”
Thisara Perera played a crucial cameo in the 2011 World Cup final. The left baptism scored 22 runs with only nine balls, helping Sri Lanka Post 274/6. At that time, no team had successfully pursued a 275 goal in a World Cup final.
Sri Lanka started well with the ball, as Lasith Malinga fired Virender Sehwag and Sachin tendulkar very soon. However, Kohli and Gautam Gambhir set themselves in the persecution before Gambhir and Ms. Dhoni built a party winning booth. Gambhir fell for 97, but Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh secured the victory of Six Wicket in India.
Sri Lanka managed to take revenge on the 2014 World Cup final against India, and Perera struck the victories to help Sri Lanka lift the trophy.
Thisara Perera also recalled his experiences of playing two finals against India: one in the World Cup of Hate 2011 and the other in the World Cup of T20 2014. He described playing in the World Cup finals as a dream come true.
“All cricketers dream of playing in the World Cup, especially in the World Cup final. I had so many dreams. This is my best feeling when I arrived in Sixes in 2011 and 2014. Now it is very good to look back. It was really a dream come true,” said Perera.
Perera currently runs the Sri Lanka Lions in the Asian league of Legends. Under its captaincy, the team has advanced to the tie of the Tournament in Nathdwara.
