Cricket fans throughout India are smoking after a Bcci Officer confirmed that the quarterfinals of the Duleep 2025 trophy will not be transmitted to television or are transmitted online. The decision, which denies the fans the opportunity to see some of India’s best domestic stars in action, has caused strong criticism and reigned discussions about the advice on the coverage of domestic cricket.
The shutdown comes from the BCCI dissemination contract, which allows a fixed number of telelast days for the Indian cricket each year. To manage this quota, only the final of the Duleep Trophy (September 11-15) will be live.
A BCCI source told India Times:
“The BCCI has a contract with its official broadcaster for a fixed number of days of Indian Cricket Telecast. They must be handled carefully. Only the final of the Duleep Trophy is live on television and will be transmitted online. But this must be improved from the perspective of the fans.”
The movement has left frustrated supporters, especially since the tournament has established international and stars. Many said that previous editions offered live streaming, calling this year’s “outrage” and a “step back”. Social networks have been flooded with publications that require better access for both players and fans.
All T20 domestic competitions are being transmitted. There are club games in TNCA that are transmitted. The Duleep Trophy is a main domestic tournament. Streaming zero. This is BCCI abysmal. The Indian cricket deserves better than that. #Duleeptrophy

The Backlash has intensified the calls for the BCCI to rethink its broadcasting strategy, ensuring that fans do not lose brand national matches in future seasons. For many, the subject is more than entertainment: it is to keep the heartbeat of the Indian cricket alive.
The absence of coverage has also raised questions about coherence. While leagues State T20 usually enjoy live fabrics, the first domestic event in India red ball is limited to live scores in the BCCI application and on the website. Critics argue that this is diminishing efforts to promote several days’ domestic cricket, which is still vital to preparing for future Indian players.
