“This is the second life for us”

Snehasish Gangul, President of the Bengal Cricket Association (CAP), and his wife had a narrow getaway on Puri beach last week.

The former Bengal cricketter, who is also the brother of former Captain of India Sourav Gangul, and his wife was on vacation in Puri when the incident took place. On Saturday, May 24, they took a boat ride to the sea when the boat was captured. Fortunately, the incident took place near the coast, allowing local divers and lifeguards to act quickly and rescue the couple.

A video that is making the rounds on social media shows the divers and lifeguards that rescue Snehasish and harpite while fighting strong waves. Shortly after being rescued, both Snehasish and Arpita returned to Kolkata and are safe now.

“It was an accident that endangered the life. The boat was captured and the locals and the fishermen were saved,” Ganguly said for Cricbuzz … “I thank Lord Jagannath. This is a second life for us.”

SNEHASISH GANGULY TO CRICKET:

Unlike his brother, Sourav Ganguly, Snehasish Ganguly could not represent India in the international cricket. However, it has been linked to the game for decades. He represented Bengal in Cricket Domestic for a decade from the 1986 to 1996/97 season.

In general, Snehasish Ganguly played 59 first class games and scored 2534 runs with the help of 6 centuries and 11 years. He also played 18 games and scored 275 runs. After retiring from the game as a cricket, he focused on his family’s printing business.

In recent years, he has been associated with the game as an administrator. In 2022, Snehasish Ganguly was elected President of CAP. Before, he also served as taxi secretary under Avishek Dalmiya.
