The fastest growing roles in Australia are in the education, travel and hospitality sectors – with titles such as English teacher, server and travel specialist leading the way LinkedIn’s 2025 job listing is growing.
“U 2024 yearwe’ve seen a strong focus on technology and engineering roles, with roles such as cyber security analyst, platform engineer and integration engineer (in Australia),” LinkedIn career expert Kayla Dengate said CNBC Make It.
While these sectors remain critical, “the shift to hospitality, travel and education in 2025 reflects broader economic and societal trends,” Dengate said. “This includes the recovery from the pandemic and the increasing importance of communication skills and continuous learning.”
Notably, ‘English teacher’ was recognized as the fastest growing role in Australia. This was due to a variety of factors, such as the increased need for English proficiency as the number of international students in the country grew, Dengate said.
The resurgence seen in these sectors could provide an opportunity for job seekers looking to enter or re-enter the workforce, she added.
LinkedIn’s Jobs on the Rise 2025 report has identified the fastest-growing job titles in Australia over the past three years, based on an analysis of millions of jobs created by LinkedIn members between January 2022 and July 2024.
