David Benavidez believes that Terence Crawford is pressing the limits passing three classes of weight to fight Canelo Alvarez for his four superior titles this Saturday, September 13.
Benavidez, WBC heavy weight champion, says that Crawford has excellent skills, but he believes that the jump of three divisions can be too much.
Benavidez says it would be the same if he decided to go heavy weight to take Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. He thinks he could win, but if they hit him, he could be bad for him.
“Because Crawford reaches three classes. Ring Magazine As to why he thinks Canelo Alvarez will defeat Terence Crawford on Saturday.
It would have made more sense for Crawford to stop at 160 and take a couple of fights against the highest fighters in this class of weight. If he did well in this division, he will go up to 168 to take a couple of fights before fighting Canelo.
That would be impossible, though. Crawford fights only once a year. Therefore, it could take four years to achieve these four fights. At that time, Canelo would probably have retired, and it would be too big to do much against anyone.
“You never want to count Terence Crawford, but there are weight classes for a reason,” said Benavidez.
“The Mexican monster” Benavidez makes a good point. Weight classes are in place to protect the fighters, so as not to prevent money from fighting the most popular fighters. Uploading three divisions could ask for problems.
Crawford goes well above the division in which he enjoyed his best success, Welterweight, and it is difficult to buy his reason to move three classes of weight.
Terence says it will go to inherited purposes. I think the total focus of Crawford focuses on the money he is achieving, because he never showed any ambition to go to 168 when Benavidez and David Morrell had titles. Crawford did not begin to show interest in moving forward until Canelo was the one who had the belts.
“They got me as a little. I don’t care. We have to get out of there and act,” Crawford said Ring Magazine When asked if he bothers him that he is the little one against Canelo. “I’m going to get out of there and win, regardless of.”
It is true that Crawford and Canelo still need to fight to determine who is the best man on Saturday. But he should still worry about Crawford on the back of his mind that the probable doubts about his chances of winning, probably seeing his last performance against Israil Madrimov and using -as a caliber in his election.
The point of decrease in returns
Crawford has significantly advanced three divisions since he began his career in Lightweight in 2007. But there is a point of decrease in returns where even a large one like Crawford will find that it has affected a point where it has too much weight. It was not cut to compete in such a division. 168 could be this point.
“It’s definitely something that drives me,” Crawford said about being the subdog. “At all,” said Terence, when he said he does not want people to say that Canelo was excessive after hitting him. “Come Saturday, we will have fireworks.”
The way Canelo has performed in his last three fights, is impossible not to conclude that he is above the hill. He has not lost these three fights, but he did not face high -level fighters. His last three fights were against William Scull, Edgar Berlanga and Jaime Munguia. If Canelo had struggled these super weights, there is a good chance that I would have lost:
If Crawford wins on Saturday, there will still be many fans who will discredit their victory, saying that Canelo is a 20 -year -old faded force as a professional. They would be correct. He is not the fighter who was previously four years ago when he won the Caleb plant to become an indisputable champion of 168 pounds for the first time on November 6, 2021.
