Theophimo Lopez claims that Ryan Garcia’s direction rejected the fight

Theophimo Lopez says his team contacted Ryan Garcia’s promoter Oscar de la Hoya, to fight, but Golden Boy’s direction decreased the shock.

López (22-1, 13 kos) claims that he will address Shakur Stevenson to fight with the intention of passing him and leaving him on tears. If Shakur (24-0, 11 kos) is the best theophimo, it is understandable why it would go in this direction. But it must be planned. Stevenson is not going to fight him as William Zepeda did. He will be on his bike, fighting as he did against Edwin de los Santos in 2023, and he will do everything, but it is impossible for him to land anything else than a dagger.

With the way the judges marked the struggle of Shakur-Zepeda, López has to think about whether it is worth fighting against him. The judges were given Zepeda, giving -no credit out of Shakur to virtually every round of the fight.

They marked the struggle as if it were a victory in Stevenson, even giving -the first rounds when Zepeda worked against the ropes. What showed the struggle is that Shakur is now receiving elite treatment we see that fighters like Canelo Alvarez receive, in which judges mark in their favor that they should go to the opponent.

Unless Teopimo is out of Stevenson, he is likely to not be made by the judges’ decision. I don’t see it happening. Despite being extremely boring to see with his Retro in the early 2000’s, Mayweather-Esque The style of struggle, Shakur is now a fighter on list A, and it will be impossible to beat him for a decision.
