The Zimbabwe T20i workforce was officially announced for the Sri Lanka series; Brendan Taylor and Sean Williams return

Zimbabwe Cricket has announced a 16 -player squad for his three -game T20I series Against Sri Lanka, it will begin on Wednesday, September 3 at Haare Sports Club. Sean Williams, who played a T20I against Bangladesh, on May 12, 2024, was remembered for the next home series.

After a poor show in the hate series, Zimbabwe will aim to bounce back at the T20IS. The team led by Sikandar Raza wants to take advantage of the house advantage and improve their battles and bowling performances to claim a victory. Sri Lanka enters the T20i leg with impetus, after having devastated the series hatred 2-0.

Veteran BATTER WICKETKEPER Brendan Taylorwhich recently made a comeback to the hatred and the tests, has returned to Zimbabwe T20i T20i after a long hiatus from the format. The team has also added Brad Evans and Taiwanashe Marumani for the next series.

This T20I series serves as a life stage for Zimbabwe to finish a basic group of players ahead of the classification of the World Cup of the World Cup of the ICC T20, scheduled for the end of this month in Harare.

Zimbabwe is looking for redemption to T20is after hatred defeat 2-0

Zimbabwe goes to the T20I series after a 2-0 loss in hatred. They lost closely the first game by seven runs, while the second game was dominated by Patum Nissanka’s performance, giving Sri Lanka a convincing victory.

Chevrons also have a poor record against Sri Lanka at T20is. Sri Lanka has won four of the last five encounters, with the only Zimbabwe victory coming home in 2024, the first T20i victory over the Lanka.

Generally, head to head is very much favors Sri Lanka, presenting a difficult task for Zimbabwe if they hope to start the next series with a positive note.

Ben Curran and Sikandar Raza provide bright spots for Zimbabwe despite loss of hate series

The Zimbabwe workshop, Curran, scored 79 runs, marking his third consecutive score of fifty-more, after being asked to beat first. Sikandar Raza contributed 59 unbeaten, helping home 277/7. Dushmantha Chameera was Sri Lanka’s prominent bowling, taking three doctors for 52 runs.

In response, Pathum Nissanka made 122 136 balls, including 16 limits, while Charith Asalanka added 71. His crucial collaboration left Zimbabwe with little opportunity, and Sri Lanka pursued the target comfortably with a few spare parts.
