Social media has always been full of bad ideas, horrible analogies and downright idiotic observations. But since Elon Musk bought Twitter at the end of 2022, it seems that things online keep getting worse. And to mark the destruction of a great social media platform that was once great, it feels appropriate to present a collection of some truly horrible tweets from 2024.
Some of the tweets are funny, some are weird, and some are just lies. We can’t bring ourselves to share the most extreme political and bloodthirsty tweets that appeared on X last year, even though such tweets technically fall into the “bad” category. Musk has, after all, built a safe space for the celebration of Nazism and tobacco films, as anyone who even tries to use that site can attest.
To be clear, this list is far from complete. There are too many bad tweets to count. But this is a snapshot of some particularly bad tweets from the past year. Here’s hoping for better tweets in the year 2025. But we don’t have to hold our breath on it.

Musk ended up donating to a candidate. And that guy was named Donald J. Trump, the one time and future president of the United States of America. The billionaire donated approx $277 million (that we know) in the 2024 election.
In another tweet several months later Musk denied that he was donating money to Trump. This tweet was eventually deleted after its exit Musk definitely donated hundreds of millions to Trump.
