The presenters of “Wheel of Fortune”. Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White helped make one member’s evening special.
On Thursday night, during the game show’s 50th anniversary celebration, Seacrest announced that they helped Robin propose to Rhea Matthews, a former Wheel of Fortune contestant who competed in October 2023.
“We’re celebrating big events for our 50th anniversary, and one happened earlier this week right here on set,” Seacrest announced in a clip uploaded to YouTube.
“Robin, the boyfriend of former contestant Raya, asked for our help and asked her an important question,” Vanna added.

She explained that with the help of announcer Jim Thornton, they were able to create “a little ruse, making Raya think she’s back to celebrate the 50th anniversary of ‘Wheel.’

“But look and see what happened,” White added before moving on to Robin and Rey’s proposal.
In the clip, Raya performed the song “Will you marry me?” puzzle.
“Well done,” Thornton said to Ray.
Robin took the stage, got down on one knee and asked, “Ree Susan Matthew, will you marry me?” The former member was shocked and nodded in agreement.
“Rhea Susan Matthew, will you marry me?”
The video then cut to White and Seacrest.
“I think she was very surprised,” Ryan said.

“Yeah, it was so heartbreaking,” White said.
“Very nice. I love that we can do that on this show,” Seacrest added.
“You never know what’s going to happen here,” White joked.

“Wheel of Fortune” shared the couple’s special moment on his Instagram account.
“Screaming, crying, losing our minds over this cute Wheel suggestion!” it was a post caption.
Rhea commented on the post, writing, “AHHHH thank you thank you for making this a reality!!! even beyond my wildest dreams!!”

Rhea shared a photo from the proposal on her Instagram and noted that her fiancé “put my jaw on the floor by doing the sweetest, most difficult thing anyone has ever done for me.”
