The footage shared on the Internet shows hundreds of Palestinians who rise to a large mound of dirt – with some seen how they scale a metal fence – when they hurry to enter the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF).
The Palestinians see for the first time as they expect the fence before the voice – by the camera, with the American accent – screaming instructions. Then they see that they enter the site and scream when they go to what is supposed to help.
BBC Check Geolocated Video on the SDS1 distribution site west of Rafa. It is said to be lifted on Tuesday.
GHF is a contradictory group of Israel and the US, which is aimed at bypassing the UN as the main provider of the Palestinians.
The UN and other assistance groups refuse to cooperate with the GHF system, stating that it contradicts the humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence.
BBC turned to GHF for comments.
The video shared Israeli anti-war activist Aloon Li-Gin, who said he had received him from an American company officer. It was unclear whether it refers to GHF or one of the private contractors who cooperate with his assistance sites.
In a report on X Green described the scene as “apocalyptic”.
“But this is not a movie about the catastrophe, but the hell we created in the newspaper,” he wrote. “This is how starving people look like, hurrying with food, risking their lives. It looks degumanization of millions.”
Israel does not allow international information organizations, including the BBC, in gas, which makes a check on what is happening on the territory.
Almost every day, as GHF began to disseminate assistance on May 26, the Palestinians were killed, trying to get help near the four centers that it still opened.
The Hamasa Ministry of Health states that 223 people were killed in total, and 1858 were injured, trying to get to the areas designed to distribute assistance.
The US and Israel say the GHF system will prevent the abduction of Hamas aid that the group denies.
On Wednesday, six more people were killed by an Israeli fire near GHF location in Rafah, in the south of Gaza. Israeli military said they considered the reports.
After reports of murder related to assistance, on Tuesday, Philip Latarini, the head of the UN Palestinian agency, said “another day distribution, another day of death.”
“Day by day, victims and dozens of victims are reported at the distribution points staffed by Israel and a private security company.
“This humiliating system continues to force thousands of hungry and desperate people to go for tens of miles, excluding the most vulnerable and those who live too far.”
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the attack under the guidance of Hamas on South Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and took 251 people hostage.
According to the Ministry of Health, at least 5510 people were killed in Gaza.
