Social media fans are still skeptical that Shakur Stevenson will remain with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom company for his next fight against William Zepeda on July 12.
Although he has denied Stevenson’s reports (leaving the Matchroom, saying he still has a two -fights agreement with him and Turki Alralikh), fans are distrustful of the promoter, believing that he does not show up on the real situation.
What is strange is Shakur’s silence on the topic of his departure and signing with another promoter, Lou Dubella, for his defense of his WBC light belt title against William Zepeda on July 12 card in New York. It is totally different from Shakur not to comment on rumors about him.
Fans few are silent about this as a confirmation that Matchroom has abandoned, but will still be on Turki card on July 12, but with a different promoter. No matter the average person promoted by Stevenson. Therefore, Shakur will not make the difference.
It still has to defeat the invictory Zepeda (33-0, 27 kos) on this card. The important person here is Turki. He is the one who can help Stevenson fight Gervonta Davis at the end of this year if he is victorious on July 12.
Some fans do not believe it and feel that Hearn is dancing around the subject, hoping to combat things with the popular Shakur fighters behind the stage to keep him among his herd in Matchroom.
Hearn’s frequent mention of Turki when he talks about Stevenson suggests some that he hopes to help him keep him on board for the second struggle of his two-fights agreement.
Some fans find that Stevenson has betrayed Hearn and believe that he should have stayed with him to complete his two-fights contract instead of leaving the boat after a fight against the electrician Josh Padley.
