The tributes were paid by a London scientist who previously worked at the Royal Biology Society (RSB) after he was found killed in North Colombia.
Alessandra Kotti had been found on the outskirts of Santa -Tea, port city on the Caribbean coast, investigators say.
Santa -Martha Carlos Carlos Kuela said that a reward of 50,000,000 Colombian peso (8 940 pounds) is offered for information that leads to the capture of those responsible for the death of a Italian citizen.
A statement issued on Tuesday said RSB said it was “devastated” by Mr. Kaati’s murder.
“He was a hot and devoted scientist, a leading RSB on animal science, wrote numerous materials, organized events and gave evidence in the House of Commons,” the RSB said.
“El was a funny, warm, intelligent, beloved by all he worked with, and all who knew and worked with him would be deeply missed.
“Our thoughts and best wishes in this really terrible time go out to their friends and family.”
Santa -Marta is a gateway to some of the most popular tourist destinations, including the National Tyron, Mininka and Mountains Sierra -Novada de Santa Mart.
Mr -n Coatti, held by the Master’s Course at the University College of London (UCL), worked for eight years at the RSB as an employee of the scientific policy before passing the senior scientist.
He left the RSB in the late 2024 to voluntarily in Ecuador and travel in South America.
Parts of the dismembered body of the scientist were found in a suitcase dropped into the stream.
Having settled on X, Mr. -n Pinet Cuel said: “This crime will not be unpunished. The criminals should know that the crime has no place in Santa -Martart. We will chase them until they are prosecuted.”
A hotel worker who talked to the Colombian newspaper El -Timpo said that Mr. Koti asked about visiting the village of Mininka and conducting local animal species.
