The roof collapse in the Dominican Night Club kills at least 13

At least 13 people were killed after the roof fell into the Dominican Republic.

Much more have suffered, and the rescuers are still working on releasing people from rubble.

It is not yet clear that it caused the incident that took place in the first hours Tuesday during a concert of the popular singer Merengue Rubby Pérez in Jet Set Discotheque in the capital of Santom Daming.

President of the Republic of Dominican Luis Abinader expressed his condolences to the victims of the families.

Director of the Center for Emergency Operations (COE) Juan Manuel Mendes said he was still looking for people under the garbage.

He added that the ambulance cars made 93 trips to the district hospital, sometimes transporting more than one patient. Officials are still trying to determine the total number of victims.

The previous number of killed is 13.

Mr. Mendes said he hoped that many of those buried under the destroyed roof were still alive.
