The Champrler of the Seattle Council Rob Saka introduced a resolution on a full section of communication with any commitment to eliminate the police.
After the murder of the unarmed resident of Minneapolis George Floida in 2020, the slogan and the movement to “cancel the police” swept across the country. However, after the notification of crime in several cities across the country, the Democratic Party sought the distance from the idea.
On Tuesday, March talked to the City Council Committee of the Seattle Public Security Committee on its recently submitted resolution 32167, which recognizes the work on improving public safety. These measures include gratitude for the first respondents, progress instructions in agreement, the police account, a diversified public safety response and the abolition of “destruction” of obligations.
The council deputy summarized: “This resolution abolishes any previous obligations or promises of past councils to cancel or cancel the police. We know that these statements were regularly called departure from police officers as a reason for leaving. We also know that they are very divided.”

The Mayor Bruce Harrell was also quoted, noting that instead of canceling their police, the city instead succeeded in expanding power.
“Seattle has made significant progress in rethinking the police because we agreed with the decree of the federal consent for ten years ago. We created one of the most reliable police accountability in the country.
“To help our Police officers Focus on what they do best, we diversified our response options by expanding the fire service, and we have successfully launched our third public safety department and care team, ”he added.
