The main opposition party Tanzania has banned standing in the election

The main opposition party of Tanzania was forbidden to participate in the elections this year, a few days after his leader was accused of treason.

Ramadhani Kyylem, election director of the independent National Election Commission, said Chadema did not sign a document on the behavior that was supposed to take place on Saturday, which means that the party was disqualified from the October elections.

One of the longest parties in Africa, CCM – or Cham Chapinduz – has ruled Tanzania since 1977.
