Team India Pacer Mohammed Shami has been out of the 18 -member staff for the next five -game test series against England, and his absence has caused speculations on the future of his red ball. A former national coach stated that Shami is no longer the same bowling bowling.
Shami returned to the competitive cricket last November after a long rest of injuries. He has played white ball matches for India, including Champions Trophy 2025. However, team direction and selectors still have concerns about their physical form due to the demands of the longest format of the game.

“If Mohammed Shami is not available in Australia or England, why selectors were chosen against the western and South African Indies at home. Akash Deep, Arshdeep, Harshit or Mukesh could use as a Siraj or Bumrah partner,” said PTI news agency.
“Shami’s body ages and you need to accept that it is no longer the bowling of the bowl,” the selector added.
Selectors had no choice but to leave Mohammed Shami out
According to a PTI report, a representative of the BCCI’s Sports Science and Medical Team recently evaluated Shami in Lucknow. The evaluation concluded that his body is not yet ready to manage the physical requirements of the test cricket, especially bowls 15 to 20 a day.
The team’s management had hoped to include Shami for the high profile series, especially since three of the five selected pacers have less than 10 testing appearances, with Arshdeep Singh although he has debuted in the red ball cricket.
However, given the assessment of the medical team, the selectors had no choice but to leave it out despite the value that their experience could have provided.

Mohammed Shami, who started his test career in 2013, has taken 229 doctors in 64 games at an average of 27.71. Under English, he has collected 42 doctors in 25 tickets to an average of 40.50.
Under a distance of distance, the pace of the right arm has secured 145 doctors in 76 entries to an average of 30.33, including four five -wicket transport.
