For the most part, Star Trek: Next Generation At a pretty tame show … she may have consistently put Marina Sirtis in skimpy uniforms, but this is the last series where you might expect a character to make a sexual joke. Nevertheless, one such joke is hidden inside one of the show’s most important episodes. In “The Price,” Ferengi uses his hands to tell a non -hap attachment about how large his penis is in a moment that appears wild out of this Spinoff Star Trek.
If it’s been a hot moment since you watched “The Price,” this is a quick repetition: in this Trek Star Adventure, different governments negotiate for the rights to what is supposed to be a fixed earth hole to the other side of the galaxy. Some of the representatives of these discussions are Ferengi, a race known for their greed and general misogyny towards women. The latter quality is fully displayed in a scene where the Ferengi Goss makes a manual posture towards Ensign Bailey; Later, the Star Trek: The next generation Companion He confirmed that he referred to the size of his “sex organ.”
This unholy display is a real “Blink and you lost” moment … one that, in fact, most Star Trek fans lost it completely. But why is this moment in the episode at all? Although we can only guess, it is absolutely possible that director Robert Scheerer has included this as a reference to what else that most fans do not know about: the strange interest of Gene Rodenberry with the ferengy getting huge penises.
Years before “The Price” broadcast, Godenberry helped create the ferengy as a new villain for our heroes to face, one who would act as the Klingons did Star Trek: The original series. In a memo in 1987, the Trek creator described the Ferengi as a “extravagant sexual appetite”, and the TNG producer later claimed that the ferengy was manifestations of “fetish some godenberry itself.” Wright claims that Rodenberry wants to “want to put a gigantic codpie on the ferengy” as a way of confirming to the audiences of these alien very endowed.
Continuing, Wright said Rodenberry “spent 25 minutes explaining to me all the sexual jobs that the ferengy could go through.” Eventually, the producer closed all this strange sex conversation by telling the franchise creator that they could not get all this spicy content because “this is a family show, on at 7:00 on a Saturday.” Giftenberry agreed, and the size of a ferrier penis is not confirmed on the screen, although these misogynistic aliens have retained their external sexual appetite as originally conceived by the Guru Trek.
Having a ferengy malt for its penis size at “The Price” is a way of honoring the original vision of the Creator of Star Trek for these aliens. It is also possible, of course, that this is a fun visual gag for a minor character exploding for his anatomy in a memorable way. These aliens are often portrayed as the raw carications of modern capitalists, so having one of them focusing on the size of his latinum stick would be perfect in line with their portraits on the other screen.
As for us, we like to think that “the price” is a way of honoring the wild vision of the Creator Star Trek Gene Rodenberry for these avaricious aliens. However, we may never know if Goss (assuming he is telling the truth) was uniquely endowed or whether the ferengy together rocks a very dense endowment (probably from the large material continuum). The last may finally answer the question we’ve been asking for decades: Why the Heck Leeta finishes marrying a rom Deep space nine.
