Netflix’s The hunting women Is the mystery of Salacious Murder and Slowy – but how does the TV adaptation compare to the original book?
Based on May CobbA novel of the same name. The hunting women Following Sophie (The snow of Brittany) After she moved from Boston to a town in eastern Texas, where he herself was drawn to a prominent Margo Socialite (Malin Åkerman). After joining a clique of rich, conservative housewives with a passion for guns and cocktails, the newcomer fell into a “rabbit hole of obsession, seduce and murder,” according to the official summary.

Lowes remembered getting “blessed every way,” adding, “She’s so psyched about it. If you read the book, you know it’s the perfect greeting ground for an amazing water cooler drama. It’s great.”
A month later, Åkerman also spoke about Cobb’s “Approval Stamp” on the show.
“(Creator) Rebecca And COBB may have a really great relationship. They’ve been talking through many and May was a kind, ‘Go for it.’ She was on a set and she really got to see her characters come to life and love the direction that Rebecca went in with the characters and changes, ”she noted Us. “It’s fun to get some of the changes from the book so people who are fans of the story can go ahead and surprise too. Hopefully it hasn’t gone too far where it doesn’t deviate too far off the book so they know the characters.”
Åkerman continued: “I read the scripts before I read the book so my prejudice might be the other way. But again, I feel we get the essence of the characters. We get the world and hopefully fans like it who have read the book.”

Backstory and Alcohol Sophie Issues
In the book, Sophie is a former editor of a magazine moving from Chicago to Texas. Meanwhile, the Chicago series for Boston exchanged. It also reduced how heavy Sophie relied on alcohol throughout the series – until the finale. On the screen, Sophie admitted she was arrested for running someone over while drinking and driving. This became a full circle moment at the end of season 1 – but you still have to read to find out how.
Aging up
The draw – or distract – in Cobb’s novel is the illegal issues between housewives and high school boys. But Netflix’s version made it a priority to get the boys to explain they were technically 18 and, consequently, they are of legal age, consent.
Abby’s pregnancy
The eight -part series revealed that Abby was the murdered girl in the woods, which prompted the town in search of her murderer for various reasons. The book managed up the Ante, with Abby pregnant when he died.
The abortion twist
The book and the show had a pregnancy and an abortion turn relating to Abby’s death. On the page, Abby conceived with a Brad baby and refused to have an abortion, and that is what prompted her murder.
The Hunting Wives by Netflix presented the idea that Abby was pregnant secretly, but Sophie only realized until the finale that Margo was the one who had abortion after Brad was immersed. More on that later …
The identity of the murderer
The Cobb version revolves around Jill attracting Abby out to kill them while using one of Margo’s guns. While the show threw Jill out as an option, she was a red herring and Callie ended her killing himself when Jill tried to shoot Margo.
In the term end 1, Sophie realize that the assumption That Jill was the murderer who didn’t add up. Instead, Margo killed Abby and then allowed Sophie to go to the fall.

Margo’s fate at the show
Speaking of Margo, Cobb Unmasked Jill’s novel as the murderer after she also killed Margo because of her romance with Brad. In the meantime, the Show Margo did not kill and instead made the murderer.
Additional deaths
Sophie nearly died in the book In attempting to obtain to the bottom of Abby’s murder before Jill was caught by Callie and the police. The Hunting Wives by Netflix took more victims with Jill and Starr’s deaths. A side plot also included a youth minister at Abby Church who took two underage women in hostages. He was a chief suspect in Abby’s murder until he died by suicide – and police realized that only for the kidnapping was responsible.
The finale establishing season 2
In the book, there is a two -month jump that Sophie and her husband, Graham, separated them after she cheated on him. The show doesn’t move that far and instead intensified the situation with Sophie telling Graham about the relationship. She left and began to solve under the pressure of the revelation that killed Margo Abby.
Sophie started drinking – and drinking – and that’s how Margo’s brother found her and threatened her. The situation deteriorated, Kyle ended dead after Sophie ran him over and then she dumped his body over a cliff. The last scene was Margo calling Kyle – just to hear Sophie breathing on the other line.
