The houses of two Minnesota state legislators aimed at shootings

The houses of two Minnesota legislators were aimed at shooting early on Saturday morning, CBS News, BBC news partner.

They were the houses of state senator John Hoffman and Speaker of the Minnesota Emeryt Melissa Hortman, both from the Democratic Farm-Labur (DFL) party, in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, neighboring cities near Mineopolis.

It is unclear who was shot dead in the houses or their condition, CBS reports.

Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz said earlier that “purposeful shooting” took place.

The Brooklin Park Police Department issued an order for asylum for three miles (4.8 km) to the Golfburg field.

Za Lindstrom, Mayor of the neighboring Mounds View, said the elected officials received “security warning”.

Authorities warn people in the area not to respond to their door to a police officer if there are no two officers, the local Fox 9 reports.

The mayor of Lindstrom on X said he had heard how the suspect was someone who represented himself “officers and were not caught.”

Waltz said on X that the authorities “closely monitor the situation” and it has activated the State Emergency Center – used to manage catastrophes or extraordinary situations.
