Governor of Illinois J. B. Packer, Democrat, stated that there is no emergency, and President Donald Trump is “trying to make a crisis” after reports that the federal government may deploy a national Guard in Chicago to resolve Crime in the city.
“At this time, Illinois did not receive requests and propaganda information from the Federal Government, asking whether we needed help, and we did not provide any requests for federal intervention,” the governor said on Saturday.

The governor also accused Trump of “trying to produce a crisis, politicize the Americans who serve in uniform, and continue to abuse his power to distract from the pain he causes in working families.”
“We will continue to follow the law, defend the sovereignty of our state and protect the residents of Illinois,” he continued.

Governor -Lieutenant -Democrat Julian Stratton said the report that Trump is preparing for deployment of federal troops in Chicago “proves that we all know: he is ready to switch to any opportunity to create chaos, if it means more political force.”
“As a lieutenant-governor and throughout my career, I fought passionately for the reformation of our criminal legal system and, in accordance with the administration of the strateton, we have made great progress,” the statement said. “The crime in Chicago decreases, and for this decision there is absolutely no justification, except for the distraction from the pain that Trump applies to working families with his dangerous program.”
“Illinois, the governor Packer and I am here to advocate your rights, your freedoms and protect you from the fact that the storm of hatred and fear will come,” she added.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, also the Democrat, previously stated that “the illegal deployment of the National Guard in Chicago has the potential to ignite tensions between residents and law enforcement agencies when we know that the trust between police and residents is the main one to create safer communities.”
“The illegal deployment (National Guard) will be impossible and threatened to undermine the historical progress we have achieved,” Johnson said on Friday’s statement.
The mayor also referred to the data that showed that last year the killings, robberies and shootings decreased significantly.
