The death of the Burning Man Festival was investigated as murder

Police said the investigation of the murder was launched at the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, after the man was found “lying in the blood basin”.

The owner of the festival stopped a police officer at about 9:14 pm (04:14 GMT) to warn him about the incident, and the man was found “lying on the ground, obviously the dead” in the campsite, said the Navad County Sheriff.

The body was discovered as a person – a sublime structure that gives the festival to its name – begins to burn. The victim’s identity is unknown.

The Burning Man project said it was cooperating with law enforcement and called on those who did not interfere with the festival.

Part of the site in the Black Rock Desert was cordoned off when the police started investigating with the forensic team.

Sheriff Jerry Allen said “several participants were interviewed.”

“Although this act is the only crime, all participants should always be vigilant by others,” Sheriff Allen warned.

The considerable presence of the police had to remain at the scene when the investigation continued.

Burning Man attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Black Rock City – which the organizers describe as a “temporary metropolis” who annually put into the desert to hold the festival that ends on Monday this year.

The festival has reported deaths in the pastIncluding death during the heavy rain in 2023, and the man who collided with the man while he was on fire in 2017.
