Kenner’s police department caught a press conference On Tuesday, March 18, to share an update on the investigation relating to Manzano’s unexpected passing.
Jefferson’s parish coroner office shared that preliminary findings show that Manzano’s death was caused by the combined toxic effects of Alprazolam-anxiety-blending often sold under the brand name Xanax-and alcohol.
“Locative Asphyxia” was also named as a contributing factor. When Manzano was found dead in a hotel room on February 5 in Kenner – which is west of New Orleans – he was facing down in a pillow, the coroner said.
The Coroner’s Office has classified the method of death as “unspecified.”
After traveling to New Orleans to cover LIX SUPER BOWL on behalf of Telemundo Kansas CityManzano was found dead at the age of 27.
In confirming his death on February 6, the news outlet called Manzano “Exceptional professional and an increasing star whose dedication and talent reflected excellence in his work.”
The arrest of the police Danette Colbert On February 6 and originally accused of fraud and theft after she was caught using Manzano’s credit card the day after his death.
On Monday, March 17, Kenner detectives received an arrested guarantee for Colbert for a executed second degree murder. She remains in custody at the Corrective Center of Jefferson Parish.

According to police, researchers have revealed “critical evidence” linking Colbert to the crime. Evidence located suggests Colbert and contact often uses substances to the drugs of their victims. A search of Colbert’s residence, held only a day after Manzano’s death, led to the discovery of Alprazolam (Xanax).
At Tuesday’s press conference, police claimed Colbert had worked with an assistant. He was charged with simple theft and various fraud accusations.
“I am committed to leaving no stone unrestricted while seeking justice to Adan Manzano’s family and friends,” Head of Kenner Police Keith Conley He said in a statement. “Kenner Police Department men and women are working round the clock to make sure this does not happen to another family.”
Manzano worked as a sports anchor and reporter for Telemundo Kansas City Since April 2021. Previously, he dealt with a number of sports for outlets in Kansas City, Oklahoma and Mexico, respectively.
