The weather outside is terrible, but watch Christmas TV episodes are so lovely!
December is the most festive month of the year and many TV shows – old and new – have Christmas themed episodes ready to watch. These heartwarming stories usually include at least one of the following components: Santa Claus, a holiday party, a Christmas miracle or a lesson on the Christmas spirit.
New holidays have also been created during the Christmas period. Chrismukkah came, a mixture of Christmas and Hanukkah staple on The AD after it was introduced in season 1 in 2003. “The Best Chrismukkuh Ever” kicked off the holidays with a bang and featured a classic Christmas mall montage, Summer’s (Rachel Bilson) Wonder Woman’s epic outfit and Marissa drunk off the rails (Mischa Barton).
The memorable holiday was revisited in the season 4 episode “The Chrismukk-huh?” and featuring Ryan (Ben McKenzie) fall off the roof and learn how the lives of each of the characters would have been different if he had never appeared in Newport.
Another classic holiday device was Festivus from a 1997 episode Seinfeld“The Strike.” Festivus, which is celebrated on December 23, includes customs such as the Airing of Grievances and Nations of Strength, a Festivus dinner and an aluminum Festivus pole (instead of a tree). The holiday is described as “Festivus for the rest of us” by the inventor of the day, Frank Costanza (Jerry Stiller).
