Pep, from Rocky Hill, Connecticut, had more wins than most less the smallest of boxers. Twice occupied the title of feather weight. From November 1942 to October 1948. From again, from February 1949 to September 1950.
Pep’s final record was 229-11-1 highlighted with 65 stops. He once told Rocky Graziano, a medium weight champion: “You couldn’t hit me with a fist full of stones!”
Pep won his first 62 fights before losing a ten -round decision to former light champion Sammy Angott on March 19, 1943. He defeated Chaalky Wright for a unanimous decision of 15 rounds at the age of 20 to win the World Nysac World Weight Championship on November 20, 1942. On June 7, 1946.
Pep had a record of 134-1-1 when he lost to Sandy Saddler, 86-6-2, by a fourth tie of October 29, 1948. He defeated Saddler in a resale by a unanimous decision of 15 rounds of recovering the title on February 11, 19, 1949.
Pep retired in 1959, only to return in 1965, and fought ten times more before retiring for the good at the age of 1943. On April 26, 1965 he defeated Jackie Lennon, and this writer attended, although he was not yet a writer. He won the 9 of 19 losing his final struggle against Calvin Woodland.
WBC, WBA, Wbo Minuteweight and Light Weight Champion Ricardo ‘Finito’ Lopez was 51-0-1 with 38 stops, from Mexico City, Federal District, Mexico.
López was 47-0 when he was reproached by Rosendo Alvarez, 24-0, for D-TD in 7 rounds. It was demolished in the second round. Alvarez lost a point in the seventh round due to the accidental head of the WBC. It was on August 7, 1998. On November 13, López won a divided decision to add the Vacant WBA title to his WBC title.
In the next struggle, López won the heavy weight title of Ibf Light Flyweight, defeating Will Grigsby, 14-1-1, on October 2, 1999 by divided decision. He then won his last two fights to stop on Anucha Phothong, 38-5-1, and Zolani Petelo, 17-2-2.
The World Heavy Weight Jimmy ‘The Mighty Atom’ Wilde ‘champion, 121-1-1, won the title by detaining Dick Heasman, 4-0, in London in the second round. It was from Tylorstown, Wales, United Kingdom.
Wilde lost his last two fights ending with a record of 132-4-1 with 98 stops.
Pascual Pérez was the 1948 Olympic Gold Medal in London. At 4:11 nicknamed ‘The Leon Mendocino’ by Ciudad Mendoza, Argentina.
On November 26, 1954, Pérez, 23-0-1, won the World Title of heavy weight, defeating Yoshio Shiral, 46-6-4, in Tokyo, Japan. In the resale he marked a eliminated in five rounds.
Pérez was 51-0-1, when he lost to Sadao Yaoita, 27-6, in Tokyo, Japan, in January 1959. He won the resale in November, with a tenth tie. It ended with a record of 84-7-1 with 57 stops.
